People often ask where our furniture comes from. The answer is simple—but the process rarely is.

Behind every piece in the Baan Collection lies a journey. Sometimes it's a drive across the country to visit a private collector. Other times it's an early morning appointment in an old warehouse or a conversation with someone who has owned a piece for decades. Every object has a history, and discovering that history is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

We don't buy furniture in bulk. We carefully select every piece based on its design, authenticity, condition, and character. Many items never make it into the collection because they simply don't meet our standards.

Finding original Space Age and vintage design has become increasingly challenging. Iconic pieces are becoming rarer every year, which makes the search even more exciting. It takes patience, experience, and a trained eye to recognise quality and originality.

Before a piece is offered for sale, we inspect it thoroughly. Whenever possible, we preserve its original condition. We believe that small signs of age are part of an object's story—they reflect a life that has been lived and add to its authenticity.

For us, collecting vintage design is about more than buying and selling furniture. It's about preserving exceptional design and giving iconic pieces a new place to be appreciated for years to come.
